Our journey

Jens Rohde Nielsen founded the company in 1968 with high determination, a passion for working at sea, and a single repurposed vessel, M/S Amanda. Just two years later, we were sailing the shoals off England in our first international endeavour, creating the foundation for the world’s first stationary manned offshore light house, Royal Sovereign.

From there, we grew to become a leader in the dredging industry. In 2002, Jeanette Rohde took over as Managing Director, driving forward Rohde Nielsen’s legacy and strive for perfection on a global scale. Today, we operate a large fleet of highly specialised vessels, and we are proud that our growing organisation of skilled and innovative professionals share the very same dedication as our founder.
