Klaipeda, Capital Dredging

Capital dredging work in the area of Klaipeda State Seaport Malku Bay

In total we had two contracts in this particular area.

The client for the first project is Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, the area is approximately 20 meters away from the quaywall and approximately 30 meters wide. From this section about 30,000 m3 of moraine soil needs to be removed and dumped in offshore dumping grounds. The task is to guarantee 14.5 m water depth in the given area.

The client for the second scope is construction company BMGS, who is developing the terminal for the local operators. The works include Capital dredging within the first 20 meters parallel to the same quay walls No 139 and No 140. Design level in this area being -14.0 meters. The volume of soil that needs to be removed is approximately 40,000 m3. In addition we need to dredge about 1 meter deep, 10 meters wide and 200 meters long trench along the pier, where the client can wash the material that is against the sheet piles before handing over the project altogether.
