Tolmount Development Project
In July 2020, Rohde Nielsen completed the route preparational works on the Tolmount Development Project for Saipem LTD.
During the last 4 months, a total of 3,000 boulders has been cleared from the pipeline route, 5km nearshore trench has been dredged and backfilled, and 50,000 cubes of clay material has been pre-sweep dredged at offshore locations. This was conducted by the MPV Heimdal R and the BHD Mjølner R assisted by a dedicated survey team from DEEP. In addition, RN assisted their client with the pipeline pull-wire lay – a demanding operation in an exposed location on the UK east coast.
Rohde Nielsen managed to deliver everything within the expected timeframe despite the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
