In 2018, Rohde Nielsen was awarded a contract by the client “Prysmian”.
The installation of the 2 x 700 MW interconnector COBRA cable requried trench dredging and backfilling works, for which Rohde Nielsen executed. More than 4,000,000 m3 of sand was moved with our equipments over a total length of 6 km.
This Waddenzee zone was notoriously difficult to work in due to heavy resiltation, moving sandbanks and breaking waves from the exposed Northsea.
Njord R, Magni R, Sif R, Gungner R, Ajax R, Sleipner R, Roar R, Helge R, Tjalfe R and Skinfaxe R were all allocated to the project.
