NorNed Lowering and Remedial Burial using Mass Flow Excavation

For this project, the trailing suction hopper dredger, Njord R, was utilized with a mass flow device designed by Rohde Nielsen, as well as additional installed survey equipment to perform cable tracking.

By using the dynamic positioning system of the vessel, the “live” high-voltage cable was lowered to a maximum depth of three meters.
